let every kid smile
In a place like India, where 1/4th of world neonates die, there is a lot of scope for improvement.
i am not talking about big thinks to do. Simple things can bring radical changes.
Just by making the people aware about importance of basic healthcare can bring a visible results. The family welfare programmes by govt., which is provided not only free of cost but also paybacks in some cases. So people should utilize it to make the future India healthy.
Promote antenatal checkup, institutional delivery attended by a neonatologist/paediatrician,
ensure immunization and regular health checkups.
SAVE LIFE and HEALTH of EVERY KID.
children are our future, ensure no kid left behind.
save neonates
From 2003 to 2007, NMR of india remained at 36...means 36 baby per 1000 live births, die within 4wks of life, which is 5 in developed country and target for Millennium Development Goal.
Of the 4 million neonatal deaths globally, India alone accounts for 0.9 million..means 1/4th. Another 55 babies die per thousand within the first year of birth.
Rural India accounts for a majority of these deaths.
But,income does not play a major role as per data.Kerala, lower per capita income than Punjab, has lowerer NMR than Punjab.
The reason could be socio-economic, including education, low age of women at marriage and childbirth, inadequate nutrition and lack of the minimum three-year interval between births.
Simple interventions can cut down the figure by a considerable margin. The main reasons of infant mortality are lack of breastfeeding, providing inadequate warmth to the baby after birth, and infections.Illiteracy and superstition complicates futher.
NMR(Unicef, 2007)
Orissa/Madhya Pradesh 49,Uttar Pradesh 48,Rajasthan 44,Chhattisgarh 41,J&K 39.
better one.....Kerala 7,Delhi 20,Tamil Nadu 23,Maharashtra 25,Karnataka 26.
SO PLZ SAVE EVERY NEWBORN.
GIVE WARMTH,PROMOTE BREASTFEEDING,PEVENT INFECTION.
SMALL THINGS DO MATTER....
